Goodwood & Cannes
‘Tis the time for work conferences and team building events. Over the last 3 weeks, I’ve been fortunate enough to go to a team off-site (Good Wood – South coast of the UK) and business unit financial year kick-off event (Cannes, France).
The weekend retreat to Good Wood was absolutely fantastic. The boys hit the PGA golf course while the girls pampered themselves in the day spa. Needless to say to, but I’m saying it anyway, I was strutting my talent (or lack thereof) on the golf course. Neither the thundering rain nor the gusty winds deterred our cause, which was, 18 holes of golf. All in all, I came 3rd based on my handicap of 30 (rather lame handicap)!

Cannes is for the rich and beautiful folks – I don’t know why I was invited. Anyhoo, as a beach resort town, it’s amazingly beautiful. The beach could have a bit more surf and (more) skimpier clad women, but I’m not complaining. The work conference was fun as it reviewed our results of our last fiscal year and our projection for FY07. It was basically a way for the entire Europe-wide business unit to come together in one place and party/network/do-whatever-it-is-that-we-do-at-work-events. The only unfortunate part of this trip was my eye infection. The work conference ended on Friday morning, but I decided to join two colleagues who decided to stay back and spend the weekend in Cannes and the surroundings. We got to check out Antibes, Chanes le something-I-can’t-remember and Nice (though I was bed ridden due to eye infection->migraines).
Check out the pics here.
