Kicking horse, crappy Sunshine...
I was eagerly awaiting today for a week as I had booked to go on the Sunshine staff trip to Kicking Horse. Colleagues who had been on previous trips to Kicking Horse would not stop raving about this mountain and this only got me all the more excited. After getting up at 6:20am, eating breaky and strolling down to the Sunshine staff bus in Banff (the bus for Kicking Horse was due to depart from Sunshine base at 8am), I was told the trip had been cancelled due to a gondola mishap at Sunshine earlier this week. Arrhhhh! So I have yet another day off this week due to this incident. Funtastics! :) I have spent the last two days riding with LinLows at Lake Louise. The terrain there is absolutely fantastic. Lots of steep and deep sections.
In other news, I recently got my Snowboard Instructors certification from CASI. Yay! The course was held at Sunshine Village resort and was a great learning experience. The course required students to be strong intermediate riders and good teachers who could easily demonstrate beginner maneuvers. My assessment didn't occur without incident - something which was rather embarrassing to say the least. And no, I'm not telling you what happened!
Our post-course/graduation celebration was held at a bar up near the day lodge (mid mountain) and after a few drinks (read: many) we decided it would be fun to do the ski-out (a rather long cat track to the car park) in the dark. 'twas rather exhilarating and scary all at the same time!
Anyone know any good places to host photos online?
